Bible Meditation:
Mark 4: 35-41

"Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!’ And the wind ceased and there was a great calm” – Mark 4:39

Winds cease and seas calm at the command of the DIVINE WAY MAKER: "Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!’ And the wind ceased and there was a great calm” (Mark 4:39). After a long day of teaching, the Lord Jesus initiated a voyage across the Sea of Galilee: “Let us cross over to the other side” (v.35). The disciples, some of whom were experienced fishermen, obeyed. Yet, a furious tempest arose, threatening to swamp the boat. This scene, as in the parallel accounts in Matthew 8:23-27 and Luke 8:22-25, highlights a vital truth about Divine Possibilities: Following Jesus does not exempt us from storms, but His Presence guarantees our safety. The storm was sudden and overwhelming, yet it served as a platform to display the authority of the Divine Way Maker.

Today’s meditation passage reveals: The Presence of the Way Maker; the Authority of His Word; and the disciples’ shift from fear to Awe! Even when Jesus appears to be “sleeping” – during times of silence or seeming indifference, He is still in the boat. The storm does not mean abandonment (vv.37-38). What the difference is His Word! The Lord did not panic; He simply spoke! His words, “Peace, be still!" show that the Divine Way Maker rules over chaos. He doesn't just manage the storm; He commands it to cease. Finally, He asked, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?" (v.40). Our God desires that our faith in His Power outweighs our fear of the circumstances. Thankfully, the disciples graduated from fear and panic to holy awe, recognizing Him as Lord over nature (v.41).

The Greek phrase, “Peace. Be still!” was a commanding rebuke, similar to how the Lord silenced demons (Mk1:25). He treated the chaotic elements as a hostile force needing to be muzzled. Behold, the transformation was instantaneous! The raging wind ceased and turned into a “great calm” – perfect tranquillity. When the Way Maker speaks to our family, health, or finances, the turmoil must cease instantly. Psalm 107:29 also celebrates God’s unmatched power to turn a raging tempest into a quiet whisper, highlighting His compassionate, miraculous intervention: “He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed." Therefore, in Jesus’ Name I decree that:

Every roaring storm against my life is becoming a silent whisper. Because the Way Maker is in my boat, I shall not perish.

The raging waves of anxiety and fear trying to assail my heart are silenced. Every tempestuous crisis rising against my life is reversed!

I am moving from the place of fear to the place of witnessing divine wonders. I shall reach my “desired haven” safely and triumphantly.

The storms I pass through will testify of God’s Power in my life. By the authority of the Way Maker, every chaos becomes a Great Calm.

The same authority that commanded the stormy winds and the raging waves shall command doors of opportunity to open for me.

I am set for my divinely ordained “other side”! I shall not drown mid-course!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
