“And the PEACE of GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” – Philippians 4:7
DIVINE PEACE does not make human sense – it defies the chaos in the world: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE of GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Phi.4: 6-7). To enjoy Divine Peace in a Season of Performance, one will anticipate rapid moves and monumental shifts. Yet, God’s greatest works in our lives are often preceded by a profound, supernatural quietness of the soul.
Writing from the confinement of a Roman prison, Paul revealed that the ultimate gauge of Divine Performance is not the immediate removal of problems, but the arrival of a logic-defying Peace. Despite his chains, Paul addressing internal conflict and external persecution, charged the believers to rejoice and protect their minds. The Greek word for anxiety means to be pulled in opposite directions. Paul demanded a halt to worry using a three-part antidote: specific prayer, urgent supplication, and forward-looking gratitude (v.6). By trading anxieties for prayerful thanksgiving, we unlock a divine garrison that actively shields our emotions and mind from panic while God works out our restoration.
The resultant peace to this posture of faith is not a mere feeling; it is the Shalom of God Himself. The word "guard" is a military term meaning to garrison or station armed sentries (v.7). God’s Peace acts as a heavenly garrison guarding the gates of our emotions and thoughts against panic. It erects a fortress of the mind. Paul ultimately shifted from the PEACE of GOD protecting us to the GOD of PEACE personally accompanying us (v.9). Performance is guaranteed when the Author of Peace – the Prince of Peace – lives His life in us and walks with us.
When we give our cares to God, He gives us His Peace. He invites us to trade worry for Worship: The moment an anxious thought pulls at our minds, we instantly convert it into a prayer tagged with thanksgiving for what God has already done. Anxiety is the interest paid on trouble before it is due. Praise is the receipt for performance already secured. We are called to the practice of filtering our Mental Diet systematically, actively guarding our minds by refusing to dwell on toxic reports, choosing instead to think on what is true, noble, and pure (v.8).
In Jesus’ Name, I affirm that:
Anxiety and panic no longer have legal residency in my mind. The peace of God garrisons my heart against every sudden report or condition.
Every situation pulling me in opposite directions is brought into subjection to the rest of Christ. Every storm is and around me is stilled.
I step out of the prison of worry and into the liberty of supernatural rest. My thoughts are fixed on things that are pure, lovely, and admirable.
The God of Peace lives in me and walks with me; therefore, I am completely shielded from depression and my mouth is filled with gratitude.
Because He is at hand, my calmness and faith are evident to all around me. God is performing His perfect will in my life while I rest in His Presence.

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
