"Then the hand of the LORD came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel" (1 Kings 18:46).
Prophet Elijah modelled the phenomenon of DIVINE ACCELERATION: "Then the hand of the LORD came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel" (1 Kgs 18:46). After the dramatic showdown on Mount Carmel, where fire consumed the sacrifice of Elijah and Baal worship was defeated, a new challenge arose: a three-year drought needed to end. Elijah, having played the role of the prophetic warrior, now became the man of intercession. Moreover, he had to run by the Hand of God! Today’s meditation passage indicates that God's Power is not just for spectacular miracles, but also for personal performance, strength, and speed to fulfill destiny.
Preparation precedes Manifestation! Elijah prepared Ahab through faith, instructing and assuring him: “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain” (v.41). Before the rain appeared, Elijah acted on God’s Promise, suggesting that Faith speaks of abundance even in the midst of a drought. But the real game-changer is persistent Intercession (vv.42-44): Elijah prayed with his face between his knees and sent his servant to check seven times. He didn't stop until he saw the small cloud, showing that tarrying without tiring attracts the torrents of answered prayers. After the rain, the Hand of the Lord came upon Elijah, enabling him to run faster than Ahab's chariots (vv.45-46).
The Eternal Hand of the Lord signifies Supernatural Strength, Divine Speed, and Favour. Elijah was a human, yet he outran a horse-drawn chariot for about 16-20 miles – from Carmel to Jezreel – evidencing divine impartation of energy, not physical stamina. The Hand of God can place us ahead of competitors and in the right place at the right time. In humility, Elijah ran before Ahab, demonstrating that his victory was not for self-glory but for God's Glory. This also allowed him to enter Jezreel ahead of the king to face potential opposition from Jezebel.
Beloved, when faced with tasks that overwhelm our human capacity – at work, in family or ministry – wisdom dictates that we stop struggling alone and ask for supernatural strength by the “Hand of the Lord"! Relying on His supernatural Grace in a world of keen competition connects us with Divine Speed to overtake those who started before us. Above all, we must stay persistent, particularly in prayer, rather than quitting!
In Jesus’ name, I prophesy that:
I receive the Hand of the Lord for supernatural acceleration in life. I will outrun every chariot of competition and agent of stagnation.
Every power delaying my destiny, is destroyed by God’s Fire. By His Power, I overtake every adversary and recover all I have lost.
The Hand of the Lord is upon my feet; I will not stumble, grow weary or know defeat in life’s journey. My feet are anointed for great feats.
I am positioned at the right place, at the right time, for progress. I refuse to be late in life. I arrive at my expected destination in divine timing.
I receive grace to achieve in months what would have taken years. This is my season of abundant rain and supernatural acceleration.

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
