Bible Meditation:
Galatians 1: 1-24

For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the REVELATION of Jesus Christ” – Galatians 1:12

Your connection to Christ is the key for you to DISCOVER DESTINY: “For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the REVELATION of Jesus Christ,” (Gal.1:12). That was the testimony of a persecutor of Christians, who discovered destiny on Damascus Road, and was transformed into one of the greatest apostles of Christ. His reminiscence: “For you have heard of my former conduct in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it” (v.13). What a wonder: “He who formerly persecuted us now preaches the faith which he once tried to destroy” (v.23)! The destroyer discovered that his destiny was to be a builder!

Purpose is your Reason for Being. Destiny is the full package of God's purpose for your life – your divinely appointed or ordained future. Destiny is what God has predetermined you to be and to become, in His divine will. One of the best things that can happen to a person is coming to a point where he is sure he is not wasting his life on earth. What a joyful privilege it would be to realise, at the threshold of eternity, like Paul the Apostle did, that you have fought a good fight and finished your course; that you have kept the faith and ready to be offered; that a crown of righteousness is waiting for you (2Tim.4:7-8). Hardly could one arrive at such a point when purpose is not known. So, it is extremely important to find out how to discover destiny.

There is no one way to discovering destiny. Here are few Biblical nuggets for the discovery of destiny.

Divine encounter and revelation: having an encounter with God wherein He reveals your purpose to you like He did to Moses.

Affection: What you love doing naturally that gives you joy could be a clue to your assignment on earth.

Potential: Your endowment reveals your assignment. God never wastes resources. Fishes were created to live inside water so God had to equip their system with survival mechanism in the water. He has equipped and endowed you for specific assignments.

Passion of heart: Your purpose is anchored on your passion. The problem that bothers you is a clue to the solution you are to offer.

Dreams and visions: That which comes to your mind consistently, often unconsciously, is a clue to your purpose and destiny.

Fulfilling destiny is not a volunteering assignment. You don’t volunteer, you respond! God will persistently nudge you forward. But when you know you’re in the centre of His Will for your life, you experience an inexplicably lasting pleasure. Know this: God doesn’t make ‘nobodies’ or nonentities. On this destiny matter, everybody is a Very Important Person (VIP). So dare to discover and walk in your destiny. Of course, it will cost you. But not anywhere close to what it cost Christ! After the apostles had been flogged they left the High Council rejoicing that God had counted them worthy to suffer shame for the Name of Jesus (Acts 5:41).

Is there something hindering you from discovering and walking in your destiny? If so you need to identify it and eliminate it. Or is it simply an unwillingness to pay the price? The early disciples simply left their nets to follow Jesus. Has your life got so preoccupied it would be difficult to leave your nets? Is the world pulling you in a different direction from your God-given destiny? These are important questions which only you can answer for yourself.

In discovering your destiny, you must have it in mind to passionately fulfil it. You must be ready and willing to move with a sense of urgency on the matter of destiny fulfilment. Remember, we do not have eternity to fulfil destiny. Discover your purpose, live it out and trust God for the grace to empty all He has invested in you for His own glory. Paul testified: “And they glorified God in me” (v.24). May this be your own testimony, in Jesus name!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
