“There are many PLANS in a man’s heart, nevertheless the LORD’S COUNSEL – that will stand” – Proverbs 19:21
No human device, scheme or plan is as effectual as THE COUNSEL of the LORD: “There are many PLANS in a man’s heart, nevertheless the LORD’S COUNSEL – that will stand” (Pro.19:21). This refers to God's divine Purpose, unchangeable wisdom, plans, and sovereign will, which are eternal and will inevitably prevail. Unlike human plans, which are many and can be thwarted or changed, God’s Purpose stands firm forever, unaffected by changing circumstances or human opposition. Human foresight is highly limited when compared to God’s ultimate authority and wisdom over all events and outcomes. God has a guaranteed Outcome: His Purpose “will stand” or “prevail”!
"Divine Performance” describes God's active hand in bringing His Word and prophecy to pass in the physical world; the practical manifestation of His counsel and purpose. While God gives His Word – prophecy or counsel – human responsibility lies in creating an environment (often through faith, obedience, praise, and thanksgiving) that allows His performing Hand to act and manifest His Will. The divine performance of God's counsel is unstoppable and will succeed irrespective of opposition.
Divine Performance of "the counsel of the Lord" reflects the supremacy of His plans over human intentions. The core message of the focal verse is that people can make numerous plans and schemes for their lives, businesses, careers, families, or ministries, but the ultimate outcome rests with the Lord. Naturally, we have many thoughts, ambitions, and plans for our lives. This is not discouraged in scripture. However, true wisdom lies in humbly submitting to God's Will and aligning human plans with His purpose, leading to peace and fulfillment.
God’s Purpose prevails regardless of human manoeuvres or machinations. His Counsel – plan, purpose, or decree – is eternal, wise, and unchangeable. In contrast, humans can devise countless “devices” in their hearts, but these are subject to change and uncertainty, and often fail to come to fruition. God can redirect human choices, and fulfil His counsel even through errors or evil intentions, as seen in the story of Joseph (Gen.50:20). His overruling Providence can make mistakes ultimately work for the fulfilment of His own Perfect Plan!
As Believers, these truths offer both a challenge and great comfort, namely:
Planning prayerfully and with Humility: We are encouraged to make plans and set goals, but in an attitude of humility. The key is to seek God’s guidance and align personal desires with His Will through prayer and study of His Word.
Trusting in God’s Wisdom: When personal plans fall apart or unexpected difficulties arise, we can find peace in knowing that God sees the bigger picture and is orchestrating events for our ultimate good (Rom.8:28).
Finding Purpose and Peace in Surrender: True fulfilment comes not from the success of our ambitions, but from surrendering to God’s Purpose. This removes anxiety and frustration, replacing them with confidence in God’s faithfulness (v.23).

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
