Bible Meditation:
John 1: 29-51

He said to them, ‘COME and SEE.’ They came and saw where He lived, and REMAINED with Him… – John 1:39 NKJV

John and Andrew longed for much more than listening to John the Baptist. Most of us would have been content to be around Judea’s most famous evangelist. Could there be a better preacher or teacher? Yes. So, when the two men met Jesus, the one about whom John the Baptist spoke, they left John and followed Jesus. They asked Him: “where are You staying?” and He responded “COME and SEE.” There was no stopping them. They came and saw and remained with Him (Jh.1:38-39).

Both men wanted to know Jesus; to find out what caused His head to turn, His heart to burn, and His soul to long. They wanted to gaze on His face and follow in His steps; to confirm if He could be who John said He was. Such questions can hardly be answered by talking to others. So, they chose to REMAIN and LEARN from Him, and FIND REST to their souls. They needed to spend time with ‘The Man’ Himself. Jesus’ answer to the disciples, and to you and I, is, ‘COME and SEE.’

What were they to come and see? What did they eventually see? Many things, but these three stand out:

  • How He handles POWER. Not once did Jesus use His power to impress others or personally enrich Himself in any way.
  • How He handles PEOPLE. He didn’t see them as interruptions, irritations or obstacles on His path to personal or ministry fulfilment. No; ‘…when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion…’ (Mt.9:36).
  • How He handles PRIORITIES. ‘…vast crowds came to hear Him…But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer’ (Lk.5:15-16 NLT). Prayer was His Priority. No commitment is harder to keep, or more significant, than spending time in prayer with Jesus each day.

Jesus says: Come unto Me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and LEARN of ME; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls (Mt.11:28-29). Have you come to Jesus? What have you come to see? What are you learning from Him? It’s time to COME, SEE, REMAIN, and LEARN!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
