CELEBRATING THE PRINCE OF PEACE

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, PRINCE of PEACE – Isaiah 9:6

We live in turbulent times when Peace is a most vital need! Amidst all of the storms, stress, down-turns, perplexities, turmoil, and troubles, God wants to display His Peace in the hearts and lives of His children. What really is Peace? Is it the absence of troubles? In the light of Scriptures, Peace is the tranquil rest of the mind irrespective of the surrounding world; the quiet confidence of the soul that is anchored on God, amidst the stormy winds of the darkest night. Peace is made most manifest “in trouble”: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Ps.46:1). Peace proceeds from the Lord’s Command: “And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still’…” (Mk.4:39).

I celebrate Him whose Name is called the Prince of Peace!

He is the powerful Prince of the Paradise of Peace.

He is the radiant, refreshing Rose of Sharon.

He is the living, loving Lily of the Valley.

He is the glorious Governor among the nations.

He is the ultimate Possessor of Perfect Peace!

Peace is IN the Prince of Peace! Perfect Peace is what the Prince of Prince freely offers, when He declared: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me you might have peace” (Jh.16:33a). The birth of the baby Jesus ushered in God’s era of Peace: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, PEACE, goodwill toward men” (Luke 2:14). The Lord Jesus Christ is the Possessor, Source and Sustainer of Peace. Outside of Him, life is full of confusion and frustration. It is not in the power of any human being, spirit being, institution, government or religion, to promise, guarantee or give peace to humanity. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given Jesus, including the power that guarantees peace (Mt.28:18)!

Perfect Peace is personified and guaranteed in JESUS: These things I have spoken to you, that IN ME you might have PEACE. In the world ye shall have TRIBULATION: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world – (Jh. 16:33). He says in John 14:27, “PEACE I leave with you, MY PEACE I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Now the LORD of PEACE Himself give you PEACE ALWAYS by all means. The Lord be with you ALWAYS (2The.3:16). There is a Jesus kind of Peace – peace in unlimited dimensions! Abiding in Him, you have the guarantee of peace – perfect, permanent and perpetual!
