Bible Meditation:
Isaiah 40: 9-26

Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things, who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, by the greatness of His might and the strength of His power; not one is missing Isaiah 40:26

The Bible says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Gen. 1:1). The fool says, “There is no God” (Psa.14:1). The Book of beginnings, in ten simple words answers the age-old question of the origin of the universe. Even more important, it introduces us to the Majestic King behind it all. Among His diverse manifestations, God as Creator is worthy of our celebration. We had absolutely nothing to do with our existence; hence, we cannot query Him, only celebrate Him. I’ll celebrate the LORD for His creation and ownership of the heavens and earth (Psa.24:1-2); and for His delegating responsibility for the earth’s well-being to me (Gen.1:26-28).

Who is not awestruck by His creative Wisdom and Power as He moved across the face of the deeps, fashioning the galaxies as He wills, and furnishing the earth with plants, animals, and humans? Could all the wonders around us have been accidental? What shall we say of the Almighty hand that made the trillions of stars? The creative order of day and night derives from the exactness of the speed at which the earth spins. Is not the Creator the One who tilts the earth so that we get the seasons? That fiery ball up there – the sun – does not generate excessive heat so that we fry, but just enough so that we do not freeze. The Almighty Creator moderates its fire!

God’s creation reaches beyond our imagination. The planet that we inhabit spins on its axis at 1,000 miles per hour as it hurtles through space in its orbit around the sun. What supports all of its weight? Job 26: 7 says: “He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing”! To astronauts who are privileged to sojourn in outer space, the Earth is as an almost imperceptible dot on a vast canvas of empty space. In the immense reaches of the universe, Earth is just a minuscule speck! Yet, this seemingly insignificant pebble in the ocean of galactic objects accommodates and sustains more than seven billion people. All over the globe, we’re treated to spectacular displays of the magnificent, creative glory of God!

This is the most exhilarating news: God who spoke into existence a universe so vast that no visual instrument has found the end of it, also created you, and cares deeply for you (Psa.8: 3-4). All through nature, we witness the magnificent demonstration of God’s awesome creativity. Creation displays His “wondrous works” (Psa.145:5). As we pause to meditate on those works, we cannot help but be awed as our minds and spirits are moved to reflect on the eternal Personality and Power who created them.  Beloved, henceforth when you step out into the night air, and look up at the sky in wonder at God’s creation, simply learn to rejoice, praise and worship Him who crowned you with glory through His Son Jesus!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
