THE BLESSING OF FRUITFULNESS

Date:

Bible Meditation:
Psalm 104: 1-31

So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, “BE FRUITFUL and MULTIPLY, and fill the earth” – Genesis 9:1

Although fruitfulness is a Command, it is also the product of divine Blessing. Fruitfulness is both a command and a blessing. The first two chapters of Genesis portray a picture of the fruitfulness of creation as a whole, due essentially to God’s pronouncements of blessings. In Eden, the trees were good for food and pleasant to the eyes. The rivers watered the garden and beyond. The true essence of all creation is to be fruitful. God blesses and the earth yields bountifully, but whenever He curses, fruitfulness vanishes and barrenness appears. Psalm 104 paints a similar picture.

According to Genesis 1:28, fruitfulness is actually the first output of a blessed human life. The blessings that God bestowed on humanity at the beginning can be regarded as the unbroken supply from which the human race has blossomed and flourished up till now. Man was created in the image of God, endowed with creative potentials, and made to be fruitful, productive, and re-productive.

Beyond the blessing of biological reproduction, fruitfulness also implies being productive in every sense. To be fruitful is to have outstanding results in your life’s assignment, career or ministry. Fruitfulness is usually visible and tangible, and it is often a distinguishing factor in life. A fruitful person has excellent results where others are failing. He or she makes smooth progress where others are stagnant or retrogressing, and is highly favoured where others are struggling. Fruitfulness means being a vessel of honour rather than dishonour.

As we meditate this month on the Grace of Fruitfulness, may you be empowered to tap into the diverse dimensions of the blessings of fruitfulness for a meaningful life and for maximized impact in all of your life’s assignments, in Jesus name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
