Bible Meditation:
Hebrews 6: 9-15

“That you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises” – Hebrews 6:12

In this new month, we shall be equipped to become imitators of positive BIBLE MODELS of IMPACT: “And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Heb.6:11-12). The Bible presents numerous notable examples and remarkable models of meaningful Impact. Their stories illustrate how individuals can positively influence their contexts, communities, society, and even the world through their faith, choices, decisions, and actions, in time and for eternity.

The powerful stories of these Models demonstrate how people’s choices and actions can shape their own lives, the lives of others, and even the course of history. Key figures like Abraham the Father of Faith, Joseph the visionary who became Prime Minister in Egypt, Moses the exemplary Leader and Deliverer, Joshua the Military Commander, Conqueror, and Administrator, David the Epitome of Kingship in Israel, Daniel the Intercessor and Political Leader in a land of captivity, Job the persevering personality, Mary the trustworthy, Peter the Apostle of Grace, and Paul the Apostle of Faith, depict different aspects of impact.

Scripture not only highlights the importance of godly role models, but it also encourages following Christ’s example: “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ” (1Cor.11:1). Paul wrote: “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children” (Eph.5:1); and “Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern” (Phi.3:17).

Abraham “believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness” (Gen.15:6). He engaged in a transgenerational covenant walk with God (Gen.17:1-8). “And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise” (Heb.:15).

Joseph’s story in Genesis showcases the power of dreams and vision, resilience, and forgiveness even when faced with betrayal. Against all odds, Joseph overcame adversity, and ultimately became Prime Minister of Egypt, with a global impact.

Moses, as a leader, displayed obedience, courage, commitment, and faith as he led the Israelites out of slavery and received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai, with an impact that reverberated down through the ages.

David’s story as a simple shepherd boy who became Israel’s King, emphasizes courage, faith, and perseverance. The young lad defeated Goliath, a giant, with a sling and stone, signifying how God can empower individuals to accomplish great things.

Mary, the mother of Jesus, depicted chastity, obedience, and trust in God’s plan, and a positive response to divine calling.

Paul’s journey from persecutor to apostle portrays dedication, devotion, passion, and perseverance in spreading the Gospel. His letters, which constitute about two-thirds of the New Testament, have offered invaluable guidance on living a life of faith.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
