Psalm 81: 8-16

“Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would WALK in MY WAYS” – Psalm 81:13

There are immense BENEFITS of WALKING WITH GOD in our daily living: “Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would WALK in MY WAYS” (Psa.81:13). In Psalm 81, the Lord invited Israel to receive the very best of His blessings. He assured those who were willing to walk with Him: “Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it” (v.10b). In order to receive His bounty, God’s people needed to listen to His words and walk in His paths (v.13). Then, the Lord promised: “He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat; and with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you” (v.16).

The biggest benefit of walking with God is LIFE! Jesus came that we may have LIFE and have it more abundantly (Jh.10:10b). He came as the Way, the Truth and the LIFE (Jh.14:6). God’s original desire and plan was for humankind to live forever with Him, and that is what the enemy sought to steal, kill, and destroy. Nothing could be more valuable than life forever, a life in the Presence of God! Enoch made a resolve to walk with God, and he did so for 300 years and God took him. Enoch did not taste death. That could have been the portion of Adam and Eve in the garden. God told them that if they disobeyed and walked away from Him, they would surely die. Although they did not die physically on the spot, they died spiritually and there was a separation from divine life!

We’ve reiterated that walking with God refers to HOW we LIVE. To walk means to move at a regular and fairly steady pace by lifting and setting down each foot in turn, never both feet off the ground at once.  Walking is a conscious and regular movement. God doesn’t come and manually pick my foot off the ground and cause me to take a step. It is my job to keep walking with God while He empowers me. God is leading us on worthy adventures. The journey continues by gleaning the ruth found in the Word and applying it to life.

Once we’ve received Jesus as Saviour, we’re commanded to walk in Him: “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so WALK in HIM, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith” (Col.2: 6-7a). God in turn will not leave us alone. He’ll walk with us now just as He walked on the Garden of Eden in the beginning (Gen.3:8). God desires a relationship with us. Walking with God is not only about walking away from sin, but into a thriving relationship with our Creator. Every intimate relationship requires an ongoing level of communication that is needed for the connection to thrive. We can have a continual relationship with God in which we enjoy life together, and He’s present to help us figure out life. This is walking with God in daily living.

The benefits of Walking with God outshine any fleeting worldly pleasure! God is loyal, faithful to all of His, and dependable in daily life. When we walk with the Lord, we can be sure to receive the nourishment needed to produce healthy, growing fruits. Few of the benefits of walking with God, include: Eternal Life, wisdom, access to God’s Promises; hearing God; and enjoying an Ordered Life. Waking with God reassures us of eternal life – the life that goes beyond the one we live on earth to the one we will live in Heaven with God (Jh.3:16). When we have a relationship with God, He enables us to live a life that pleases Him, and we bear fruit in the work that He has called us to do (Col.2:6). Walking with God grants us access to His precious promises (2Cor.1:20).

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
